About this Class
This class is a feast! You will create seven distinctive sauces as we explore the principles of Washoku, the ancient Japanese food traditions that make meal preparation fun as well as transformative for our health. As we make each sauce, we will taste as we go and learn how to pair the sauces with different ingredients – from noodles to meats to seasonal vegetables.
There are tricks to making delicious Washoku-ish cooking quick and easy in a home kitchen. One of them is having a variety of sauces in your refrigerator and pantry, ready for quick pairing with whatever meats and vegetables you have on hand. Much of Washoku cooking involves simple cooking techniques for whole foods plus bright, delicious sauces.

Our 7-course Japanese tasting menu:
•Restaurant-style carrot wafu dressing for vegetables
•Sunomono quick pickling brine for cucumbers that can also be used to make sushi.
•Shoyu mayo for tofu and blanched greens
•Hoba negi miso dipping sauce for steak
•Buttayaki dipping and stir fry sauce for vegetables
•Sweet sesame dipping sauce for greens and pork
•Rayu sesame chili oil drizzle for noodles

Note: Menu might change depending on ingredient availability.
